We are seeking an enthusiastic and caring Early Years Practitioner to join a warm and welcoming early years setting within a primary school in Leyton, starting after the October half-term. This is a full-time role, offering a fantastic opportunity to support the learning, development, and well-being of children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Key Responsibilities:
Support the class teacher in delivering the Early Years curriculum through play-based and adult-led activities.
Work closely with small groups or individual children to encourage development across all areas of the EYFS framework.
Promote a nurturing and stimulating environment where children feel safe, valued, and eager to learn.
Assist in planning, setting up, and tidying learning areas both indoors and outdoors.
Observe, monitor, and record children’s progress, helping to identify next steps in learning.
Support children with personal care needs, such as toileting, dressing, and hygiene routines when necessary.
Help to foster strong relationships with parents and carers through daily interaction and effective communication.
Requirements:
A valid DBS check on the Update Service is preferred for this role.
Previous experience working with young children, particularly within an Early Years setting, is desirable.
A relevant Early Years qualification (e.g. Level 2 or Level 3 in Childcare or Early Years Education) is advantageous but not essential.
A nurturing and patient approach, with a genuine passion for supporting children in their early development.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
An understanding of the EYFS framework and safeguarding best practices.
