Reception Teacher (Early Years Lead)

Job Overview

We are seeking a strong Reception Teacher to join a primary school we are working with in Hemel Hempstead. The ideal candidate will look to progress into becoming an Early Years Lead. This position is to start after the Easter break on a temp-to-perm basis.

An Enhanced DBS is required to start this role.

A QTS is required for this role.

Duties:

• Create and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to the developmental needs of young children.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and communication.
• Drive the overall management of the classroom, ensuring a safe and supportive space for all students.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child’s progress and any concerns.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the educational programme and share best practices.
• Maintain accurate records of children’s progress, attendance, and behaviour.
• Provide leadership in promoting early childhood education principles within the nursery setting.

Skills:

• Strong leadership abilities to guide and inspire both children and fellow staff members.
• Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting is essential.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, particularly in English.
• Knowledge of early childhood education practices and principles.
• Ability to manage classroom activities effectively while maintaining a positive atmosphere.
• A genuine passion for nurturing children’s development through play-based learning experiences.
